Cori Richards
My story begins in Laguna Beach, CA. Growing up on the beach, I have always been drawn to the outdoors and beauty of nature. The joy of kayaking underneath a darkening sky or hiking on the South Island of New Zealand are some of my more treasured memories.
As life continued, I found myslef in Utah with a finance degree, which I put to good use as a ski instructor, swim coach, & yoga teacher.
New Zealand became our next home. Along with my husband, Carl and our children (Lindsay, Grace, Samuel, & Ruby Jane) we grew and thrived on this island in the Pacific. We savored adventures in the mountains, rivers and oceans of this magical land that became dear to us.
Interior Design has always fascinated me. My father was a home builder and we would spend hours looking at ‘Architectural Digest’ together, or going to the annual showcase of homes and dissecting every detail. This was the foundation of my love for interior design along with quality construction.
In addition to the functional aspects of a home, (my Dad was very particular about all the small details and I inherited that from him) I am intrigued with the interactions of people in a space. I love exploring the interactions of light and dark, smooth and textured, expansive and sheltered. Seeing these elements combined to create a space that not only vibrates with energy but simultaneously provides grounding, and nurturing. A place for humans to live and thrive.
All of these fascinations, curiosities, and passions were realized as I moved to London to attend ‘The Interior Design School’. With each move around the world requiring me to refine my material possessions, I have learned what I value most. It is the people that I share space with, & cultivating moments for deep connection. An intentionally designed space allows you to nurture your closest relationships, invite others in to enjoy, build community, and be your own personal retreat of rest.
I am thrilled to share my journey of discovery, creation & life as an adventurous mum and passionate designer. I want to help you create your Intentional, Cultivated & Refined design.
